Some hiked from one way, some from another. They met on the trail to say hello to each other. Nineteen was the total of hikers today. The mileage then varied, seven for those that went the whole way.

Two waterfall crossings, beautiful views all around, a valley of Redbuds, many flowers abound. In over eight miles, several quite strenuous, Hospital Rock provided a rest and for thirteen the hike was tremendous.

We hiked up and down Nine Times on a cloudy, winter day. Those four point five miles brought eleven smiles. Then off to Long Shoals we drove to explore some more.

Quite a crew (totalled thirty two) hiked the gorge of Eastatoe. In a bit over six this group got their kicks with a creek that was incredibly showy. A dropped hiking pole caused a little scream………as we watched it travel down the stream……

Brushy challenges across trail did abound, snow like powered sugar was sprinkled all around. Twenty-one came out today. Maybe felt a little like Benton MacKaye. (~8.5 mi)

Wary of black ice, we delayed our start but 15 hikers had warm hearts. Five trails we rambled seeing old mill remains, big hole, and waterfall, and yes, we had a ball. (5.1 miles over RC Edwards Trail, Big Hole Loop, Twelve Mile Loop, Vic’s Trail, Anthill Trail and Old Six Mile Highway)

From the canyon floor to top of the ridge, nineteen marveled at four great waterfalls and a suspension bridge. North Rim to South Rim, just about 4 miles in all, almost 600 stairs, let’s do it again next fall!
A crisp fall day brought out twenty two, for a beautiful hike with quite the view. All the while we were hikin’ there was lots to be “lichen”. Trekked nearly six and got our Round Mountain fix.
Twelve played possum, found it awesome. Five point one-eighth miles plus more for lunch made for a happy bunch.
